Energy Resourcing are currently searching for a WTG Safety Engineer to join a world leading Renewable Energy company based in Glasgow and to provide expertise for a new project in France.

The WTG Safety Engineer (WTG-SE) will be dedicated to the Foundations Supply, Foundations T&I and WTG packages from day one. The nature of this job function is Quality Engineering Technology driven which comprises product safety, quality & engineering safety, this as well includes the planning, setting up and reviewing of processes relevant for the manufacturing, shipping, installation and completion of the Foundations and Wind Turbines in the North Sea so that there will be no plant/machinery concern.
This is realized by applying a process-oriented system which is achieved through inspections, testing, evaluation and quality and engineering safety tools and techniques to identify hazards, defects, or deviations from specifications. The aim is to manufacture and operate trouble-free machinery and plant also in reducing concerns and improving business processes so that all products are fault/hazard-free when delivered to the
The incumbent will review drawings and verify those against (country of operation’s) legislation and standards and negotiates with the FOU & WTG design/engineering department that the design risk assessment’s content is to sound engineering safety methodologies for suitability to environment, international and domestic regulations and company expectations.
Once the FOU jackets and the Wind Turbines are completed and shipped to the North Sea, the Safety Engineer will assure that all method statements & risk assessments are safety acceptable ensuring trouble-free project cycle from topside landing through to commissioning and handover.
The Safety Engineer appointment will be cross locational, with foreseeable visits to the fabrication sites. Secondly, he/she will join the construction site and the installation vessel in short trips and assures to maintain effective relationship with the Site H&S Service supplier so that constant walk downs and inspections are conducted to verify set criteria. In case any concerns occur at any stage, those are immediately shared with the FOU & WTG team and an improvement campaign must be driven so that those are maintained as reasonably low as possible.
The WTG Safety Engineer will report primarily to the Health & Safety Manager but maintains close links with the Offshore H|S|Q Business Office from which directions and support will be given.
As a whole the incumbent will be responsible in assuring that the WTG is in compliance with the machinery directive and national requirements on achieving and running a safe plant.
