Energy Resourcing are currently recruiting for a Well Engineer (Detailed Design Plug and Abandonment) to join their oil and gas operator in Aberdeen on a 12-month contract basis.

The Engineer reports to the Well Engineering Manager Plug and Abandonment (P&A) and will be responsible for delivery of the front end and detailed design plans and programming for UK Subsea Plug and Abandonment activities.

The Engineer will deliver quality data-mined and assured designs that incorporate local regulatory requirements and the client's standards/guidance with a strong continuous improvement drive.

The Engineer will have an excellent understanding of the risks and technical issues associated with subsurface & wells and be able to challenge and incorporate the subsurface isolation strategy in P&A design.

The Engineer will be skilled in Wells Cost estimation and selection of equipment, methods, and execution plan. The role involves stakeholders internal and external to the Wells department, notably, geomatics, subsurface asset teams, regulatory and permitting, technical subject matter experts (e.g. cementing, trees, and wellheads), finance, C&P, and not least, our vendors and 3rd parties. This will require strong stakeholder management skills and proven familiarity with working across disciplines. Working seamlessly with the Wells Operations teams, the Engineer will write the operations program and support the execution of P&A and related activities and any AAR/NPT investigations.

Experience in concept design. The incumbent will have recent experience and knowledge of UK North Sea operations including extensive experience with Subsea Tree and Wellhead systems and recent P&A activities.
