Vice President - Operations

Position Summary:

We are looking for a VP of Operations with strong people management, leadership and operations experience in the manufacturing space. This is an opportunity to join a growing and dynamic organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor costs and manage budgets, allocate branch funds, and define financial objectives
  • Monitor project expenses to ensure all budget requirements are met
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and provide assistance with any problems that may occur
  • Participate in the hiring process by reviewing candidate's resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions and recommendations
  • Be proactive and examine possible opportunities while working closely with the Director, Automation; Manager, Automation; and Manager, Manufacturing to ensure all areas of improved growth can be obtained
  • Approve all promotions and raises to ensure this company remains competitive and is developing talent
  • Work with Human Resources to solve employee relations issues and conduct disciplinary actions when/if required
  • Perform annual performance evaluations for all direct reports
  • Network within the marketplace to attract new business and communicate results to Sales Department for follow up
  • Provide support to Estimating department when preparing quotes for projects
  • Review daily job tickets
  • Collaborate with Accountant, Office Administrator and Invoicing Admin to stay up to date with invoicing, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable
  • Participate in weekly WIP and AR/AP meetings to drive efficiencies and meet targets in this area
  • Ensure these companies operations is in compliance with the standards and safety procedures of the Health & Safety Manual
  • All other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • 5 - 10 years of senior management experience
  • Operations experience with a 20 to 50 Million dollar budget
  • Strong sense of leadership and team building skills
  • Manufacturing experience required
  • Must hold all valid safety tickets required under the Health & Safety program

Education Requirements:

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree from a recognised University or College
