Energy Resourcing are currently supporting their major oil and gas client and are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Energy Transition) to join the client's Aberdeen project team for 12 months.

This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to enhance their engineering skills on an ambitious decarbonisation programme designed to tackle industrial CO2 emissions by making use of existing oil and gas infrastructure and depleted gas fields in a region that is embracing the energy transition.

  • Support the PM responsible for the technical delivery of the Track 2 Due Diligence to DESNZ (Department for Energy Security and Net Zero).
    • Expect a high pressure environment, managing a large variety of internal and external stakeholders and delivery against frequent and challenging deadlines.
  • Full accountability for the Technical Developer role of the project's Hydrogen module (estimated 300 mil£ headline size). This will initially be limited to pre DG3 activities including screening studies with the two main competitors for this scope.
    • Manage day to day design and project activities with contractors to ensure delivery specifications are met.
    • Review and monitor contractors progress against schedule and ensure key project milestones are being achieved and reported.
    • Work together with the LD to ensure integrated scope across the full TECOP spectrum.
    • Develop key TD scope such as the Project Execution Strategy and associated activities, to support a successful DG3 for the Project.
    • At a later stage the responsibility for Hydrogen will be transferred to a more senior Project Manager.
  • Development of key project deliverables and establishing the requirements for any Enabling Infrastructure Works (EIW) that will be needed to successfully deliver the project, including the development of a camp to house a significant amount of workers in the Peterhead area.

  • Liaise and coordinate with internal engineering and project stakeholders to progress internal (and partner) assurance requirements thereby contributing to a successful DG3.
  • Manage interfaces between internal and external parties including consultants and contractors.
  • Help ensure the intent of the Project Management Framework is embedded across the Project.
  • Embed HSE and Quality into day-to-day activities and project deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the various project groups.
  • Interface with external groups and across natural teams.

  • Commercially and contractually knowledgeable, experience in managing or supporting management of major FEED and EPC contracts would be an advantage and working with different contract models through contract preparation, negotiation, implementation and close out.

Relevant Experience:

  • SPA L1 and understanding of gaps to next SPA level.
  • Experience of working in large, onshore, greenfield projects is an advantage.
