Our engineering consulting client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to be working on their end client's alumina refinery in Wagerup. Initial contract is 12 months with a strong view of extension. Role will be based out of the clent's Wagerup refinery.
Responsibilities:
- Working within a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver a range of process engineering design projects, pipelines, pump stations, and process piping as well as assistance with mechanical and structural design including concrete and steel structures, bridges, and other mine infrastructure
- Prepare drawings, plans and details for fabrication and installation of smaller projects, under the direction of the Capital Projects' engineering team
- Prepare new layouts and location of equipment for larger projects in the 3D model, for an EPCM to progress through feasibility to detailed design and execution phases
- Lead and take part in design reviews and HAZOPs as required
- Ensure compliance with mechanical design and layout criteria, ensuring safe design, accessibility, operability and maintainability of proposed equipment
Requirements:
- A recognised and relevant engineering degree.
- Significant experience in 3D modelling preferably in AutoCAD and Microstation
- Prior experience working with EPCM Greenfields or Brownfields environment, preferably in a chemical processing plant either in general or mining processing industry
- Strong communication skills in multi discipline teams
- A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements
