On behalf of our client, we are seeking 2 x Senior Health and Safety Advisors for a Pilbara region, site based (FIFO) role on a 2/1 roster. These are both fixed term contract roles.

The Senior Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of our client's Health & Safety Management system at ground level. This role supports project, commissioning, operations teams and contractors.

The successful candidate will provide functional Health and Safety leadership and guidance to the project and operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support H&S Safety reporting including Health & Safety KPIs ensuring targets are delivered successfully
  • Implementation of Fatality Prevention Program on site including upskilling, promoting and coaching
  • Facilitate Risk Assessments and provide coaching on risk management
  • Ensure contractor CRAWs and other risk assessments are completed, recorded, actioned and updated as necessary
  • Review investigation quality and provide support with facilitation ICAM and 5 why level investigations
  • Audit and verify training records on a routine basis against relevant Training Needs Analysis
  • Assist with identification of health-related hazards, provision of coaching awareness to personnel in relation to hazards and effective controls.

Skills and Qualifications include:

  • Tertiary qualification in Safety related field of study (Dip. OHS Minimum)
  • Experience in mining operations, infrastructure or project environments with proven experience working at remote site locations
  • Solid understanding of relevant Western Australian legislation
  • Proven ability of supporting implementation Health & Management Systems on a project site experience with implementing risk management techniques
  • Skilled in incident investigation and reporting investigation training
  • Lead Auditor Qualification
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Surface ventilation officer (Desirable)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office applications (in particular, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and experience in operating Safety Management Software (INX preferred)
  • Australian (state or territory) Manual Driver's License (C Class)
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to relate to stakeholders across all levels.
