Quality Control Manager

Summary:

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring this client’s manufactured products meet set standards of quality, reliability and performance to maintain this client’s market leadership position. The Quality Control Manager develops, implements and ensures quality processes and procedures are adhered to and conducts regular quality audits to monitor compliance to support the manufacturing of consistent quality products that meet customer expectations.

Accountabilities: Operational:

  • Ensures all work is performed in a safe manner and has a complete understanding of safety protocols including emergency stop buttons, power switches and proper lockout procedures
  • Conducts assessments of company production processes to develop in-house quality policies, procedures and specifications
  • Implements and monitors quality assurance standards to ensure consistent product quality
  • Conducts quality audits to make sure set quality policies and procedures
  • Establishes procedures and processes for sampling, recording and reporting of quality data
  • Assists external quality auditors in coordinating on-site audit
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation of quality tests and other quality-related activities
  • Collects, compiles and reports on relevant quality statistical data

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
  • Five year’s related experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the wood products sector
  • Current certification and/or demonstration of knowledge in all aspects of HSE regulations and compliance reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to read, analyze and interpret documentation required for the role (technical procedures, government regulations, professional journals etc.)
  • Proficiency in general business knowledge and tools, including MS Office (Word and Excel) and MS Project
