Energy Resourcing are currently searching for a Project Engineer to join a world leading Engineering client based in Grangemouth on a 12 month contract.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Construction Manager
  • Attends all required safety training / inductions and will ensure that these are maintained up to date
  • Implements policies, plans and procedures for Health, Safety and Environment where applicable to their area of responsibility
  • Co-ordinates engineering activities between Project Engineering Manager and site
  • Ensures that engineering procedures are followed for the management of Technical and Engineering Queries
  • Ensures that all Field Design Modifications (FDM's) are recorded and processed correctly
  • Co-ordinates and prepares Technical Requisitions and specifications for the Project work scopes and supports the Request For Quotation process
  • Reviews and takes responsibility for all material requisitions raised by site before transmittal to the Procurement Group

Prepares:

a) Sketches necessary for procurement of material or construction requirements.

b) "As-built" drawings, where required

General liaison with Company and construction personnel regarding engineering issues

Co-ordinates the compilation of "As Built" marked-up records by the contractors and vendors

Co-ordinates and follow-up the close-out of Technical Queries, Concession Requests, Non-conformities, Technical deviation Modifications Notices, Field Design and Control Engineering Data Sheets for engineering matters with Construction Superintendents, Contractors and Company Engineers

  • Assists with the input to Memorandum of Change process
  • Ensures that all engineering documents are correctly stored and retrieved from Aconex
  • Co-ordinates and follows up the Lessons Learned programme for Construction and Commissioning
  • Participates in Quality and HSE audits as requested
  • Attends and participates in all required site meetings, takes minutes and monitors actions on behalf of the Construction Manager
  • Provides timely progress updates to planner/project controls and prepares input to the daily and weekly Construction Report as applicable
  • Participates in the review of technical submissions from Vendors and Contractors to assess their capability for meeting the selected scope of work
  • Performs any other activities as assigned by the Construction Manager
  • Consider the financial implications of all work undertaken, recommend action which will reduce the cost of any job provided that such action is compliant with the Project Change Management Process and will ensure the quality of the work required
  • Answer incoming correspondence at the request of the Project Manager / Construction Manager
  • Assists project controls in the following:
  • Close-out of contractor commercial issues
  • Identify back charges and ensure notification to affected parties
  • Identification of insurance claims
  • Issue of Field Instructions
  • Input to Change Orders
  • Progress valuations

Requirements

  • Experience in this role in the oil and gas/petro chemical industry
  • IT Competence with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
  • Work requires a degree of analytical, interpretative and constructive thinking, with a significant degree of evaluative judgment
  • Works in accordance with Company policies, directives and objectives set by the Construction Manager and international engineering standards
