Production Engineer
Position: Permanent
Location: Lima, Ohio
Our client is seeking a Production Engineer to work at a hazardous chemical plant. The Production Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing the day to day operations of the production units.
The Production Engineer will be required to initiate, approve work orders, evaluate unit problems, set priorities for operations and prepare reports. They will also need to ensure the safety of personnel and compliance with regulations.
The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in plant operations. Knowledge in process safety, risk management, and chemical processes is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures timely Operations documentation is issued (production recaps, initial incident investigation forms, incident reports) including proper details and provides feedback on gaps of expectation.
- Establishes, monitors and updates adequate Key Performance Indicators (Statistical Process Control, KPI's) through proper Visual Management tools.
- Works closely with Process Engineers to execute process improvement plans.
- Works with Process Assistants to write and review procedures associated with areas of responsibility as required. Periodically reviews and revises existing procedures and P&ID's as needed. Leads the Management-of-Change (MOC) process for areas of responsibility.
Experience and Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering (Chemical preferred) or higher.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical or refinery industry.
- PSM plant experience.
- Hazardous chemicals operations experience highly desirable.
- Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, and other software as deemed necessary.
