Energy Resourcing are looking for a Principal HVAC Engineer with our internal client Worley, this would be a permanent or contracting role based in Brentford, London.
You will join the Mechanical Engineering Department which provides concept, FEED and detailed design services for mechanical equipment.
Responsibility
- Applying your knowledge and experience in the design and substantiation of ventilation systems and delivering HVAC designs at a Principal Level
- Producing ventilation system design deliverables, i.e. Ventilation Flow Diagrams (VFD's), Basis of Design (BoD), Plant Sizing Calculations (Heating / Cooling / Fan Sizing) Control Philosophy
- Delivering written work including Equipment Specifications and Design Assessment Reports
- Maintaining the required technical quality of work
- Identifying scope and schedule changes in accordance with Change Control Process
- Ensuring design complies with the relevant procedures and regulations
- Ensuring, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
- Preparing estimates and schedules and assisting in their review
- Maintaining good communication with the client and visiting Assets when necessary
- Encouraging and providing lateral learning within the department and projects
- Promoting Worley values and ensuring the realisation of company and project health, safety, environmental, quality and ethics, systems, policies and procedures
Skills/Qualification
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject
- Experienced Principal Engineer with sound technical background and expertise
- Experienced in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation
- Experienced in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline
- Experienced in coordinating HVAC activities within a multi-disciplinary environment
- Experienced with Client interface management within the HVAC discipline
- Competent in use of analytical methods used within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs
- Able to estimate people-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work
- Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work
- Competent in design safety/environmental requirements, procedures and responsibilities for both self and subordinates
