Our Engineering client is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join their Perth based team, on an initial 12 month contract, with the view to this progressing into a longer term role.
Role Responsibilities
· Deliver civil engineering services in accordance with applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
· Initiate, manage and if required supervise civil engineering project requirements.
· Perform civil engineering services such as participating in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures;
· Act as the civil engineering Lead on specific projects.
· Assist and support junior personnel within the civil engineering team.
· Communicate effectively with the civil engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
· Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
Key Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor of Civil Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree
· 10 years plus experience in civil engineering design in the mining and/or infrastructure sector
· Pilbara iron ore experience preferred
· Experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams, specifically in the delivery of civil engineering infrastructure design
· Familiar with software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD and 12D would be beneficial
· Knowledge of relevant local standards and legislation.
