Lead Process Engineer

Contract to Direct or Direct

Location: Tampa, FL area

The individual will have knowledge of industrial process systems and their components. Leads multidisciplinary process design teams in the process engineering analyses, design, drafting, development, testing and support. Efforts include all related industrial process engineering requirements. Functions as both Chemical / Process Engineer and Project Manager on a variety of projects. Works collaboratively with other Engineering disciplines as part of a combined integrated team. Estimates workload requirements for assigned effort. Oversees efforts of design drafter personnel as assigned projects require. Provides status input and tracking of assigned tasks. Interfaces with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to lead Design Drafters
  • Ability to apply engineering disciplines to support design activities.
  • Ability to work under general supervision, follows established procedures, and solves routine problems in the engineering discipline.
  • Ability to assist with definition and design activity.
  • Ability to review, evaluate and analyze designs.
  • Ability to prepare, review and evaluate documentation, specifications, test plans and procedures.
  • Field work to document as-built conditions.
  • Evaluate design drawings and documentation.
  • Communicate with Clients, interface with code officials and contractors and provide detailed reports.
  • Manage multiple project assignments, executing them on time and within budget.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Process Engineering from an ABET accredited program required.
  • Florida Licensed Professional Engineer through NCEES examination. Multiple state registrations (or ability to obtain) a plus.
  • Minimum 10 Years Process Engineering experience in design or other background that promotes an understanding of chemical process systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in workload estimating, task assignment, tracking and status reporting.
  • Have, or be able to obtain TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card)
