We recruit technical specialists and managers for demanding national and international projects of our technologically leading customers.

On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Lead Instrumentation Engineer - Portfolio Projects, located in The Hague, The Netherlands.

In this position, you will be a lead engineer working on several small or one medium size project(s) in a portfolio of one of our client's customers. The job requires occasional site visits and supervision of the instrumentation project team (engineers/designers) in the Netherlands as well as a remote office.


  • Leadership skills in Engineering with the ability to handle complex projects
  • Carrying the responsibility for the project's success and providing strong direction for the team
  • Plans and manages the work, managing the financial aspects of the discipline, including the man-hour estimates and margin goals
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills (both verbal and written).
  • Flexibility to travel on a regular basis
  • Ability to handle teams of 5+ engineers structured and spread across 2 or 3 offices
  • Understanding of Project business case and reflecting this in the work environment such as productivity, schedule, work-hour control, innovation, etc.
  • Should have been involved in the development and implementation of activities such as the latest technology and methods to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity for the department.
  • Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects, and demonstrates this by example
  • Can work as an efficient team with project management and other disciplines, both within our company and that of the client
  • He/she is also responsible for ensuring that the Disciplines quality management system is followed taking into account any special contractual requirements.


  • Experience in the areas of ICS instrument engineering for 10+ years, with a minimum of 3 years as a Lead Engineer experience;
  • Candidate can work independently and report to the program focal point and/or project engineer/manager.
  • Able to check the deliverables produced by the team.
  • Clear communication in the English language, both verbal and in writing.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and pragmatic mentality.
  • Able to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience in work cooperation with remote offices (work sharing concept).
  • Real team player (within the ICS team and cooperation with other departments).
  • Takes ownership of the scope, budget, and schedule.
