Interface Engineer – Electrical, Instrumentation and Telecoms – major Pipeline FEED

Working on a major pipeline FEED development project the Interface Engineer for EITS will coordinate the team efforts offered by engineering, procurement and construction and guide / assist with EITS related interfaces between internal and external interfacing parties.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

* Client and external stakeholders facing role, excellent written and verbal communication skills required

* Assist and support the Project Interface Manager to achieve Contract objectives

* Assist in developing and maintaining the project Interface Management Plan and its supporting tools

* Assist with setting up Interface Management processes

* Support and coordinate the resolution of complex interfaces mainly relating to Electrical / Instrumentation / Telecom (EITS) including expediting and escalation as necessary

* Assist and guide Contractors in setting up their Interface Management Plans and Procedures, to meet project requirements

* Assist with identification, coordination and resolution of EITS Interface Points and associated data

* Ensure works are undertaken in accordance with Contract engineering and quality requirements, per the agreed plans, procedures and specifications

* Provide interpretation of contractual requirements, designs and other technical documentation to the project team, Client and Contractors

* Oversee interactions and communications between parties that are related to the interfaces and ensure timely closure of open actions

* Contribute to promoting the Quality Policy and Objectives and ensure compliance to project Quality Management * Participate in Model reviews and Construction reviews

* Work with Contractors during the constructability and readiness phase of the project to provide recommendations and construction principles to be applied in the field

* Participate in Contractor audits

Position Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical/Instrumentation/Telecom)

* 15 years-experience in the engineering, procurement and construction management industry

* 10 years-experience specifically in the oil & gas (pipelines) industry

* Previous experience necessary in Interface Coordination of multi-stakeholder environment and familiarity with concept of interfaces in large scale projects

* Experience with complex and integrated Electrical / Instrumentation / Telecom systems and understanding of complications associated with scope and responsibility split in regard to EITS activities

* Experience with Customer Owned Outside Plant and design

* Knowledge of telecom/instrument/electrical system interconnectivity and management systems Proficient in the use of engineering and project management software programs
