HSE Manager

Position: Permanent

Location: Mobile , Alabama

Our client is seeking a Safety professional to promote worksite safety by applying knowledge of industrial processes, mechanic, and industrial health and safety laws.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current policies, regulations, and industrial processes.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Interview employers and employees to obtain information about work environments and workplace
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Regular and prompt attendance in person.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability required.)
  • Education Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field preferred; experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Licensure/ CSP, SMS, or comparable certification, preferred.
  • Five years of related experience in fabrication or construction, highly preferred
  • Special Extensive knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and policies. Knowledge/ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used for inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
