Job Summary:
This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for a Head of Grid Integration to work for a growing company focused on supporting Australia’s transition to a Cleaner Energy Future, their focus on building a bigger portfolio of Cleaner Energy assets and businesses is a strong part of their future both in Victoria and Australia.
Reporting to the General Manager Energy Services and a member of the Energy Services Leadership Team, the Head of Grid Integration is a technical engineering leadership role responsible that enables new energy solutions and portfolio of assets to integrate into the electricity grid.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic approach for distributed energy resources (DER) such as VPPs, batteries and EV’s will integrate into the grid – “how to flex”
- Accountable program leadership of the virtual power plant or flex platform acquisition, successful pilot, implementation and ongoing orchestration of assets to optimise value
- Technical engineering solutions for hydrogen partnership, green hydrogen refuelling stations new products and ensuring the surrounding ecosystem has addressed grid and asset integration strategies
- Engineering strategy for Vehicle to Grid and Vehicle to Home pilots (both EV & hydrogen)
- Create energy “resilience” innovation products (non-network solutions) to network operators from my Clients assets (mass market customers, SME & large businesses, members & owned assets)
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in network utilities
- Degree in electrical engineering
- Ex senior leadership role with network planning engineer essential with distribution experience.
- Previous experience with new energy and innovation senior leadership roles desirable
- Understanding and experience of operating envelopes and emerging grid edge technology
- Experience in renewable technologies such as battery (commercial, community & residential), EV (vehicle to grid), solar, hot water, waste to energy, hydrogen, demand side management, virtual power plants and operating envelopes
- Experience in managing and augmenting a portfolio of energy assets across diverse regions
- *Technical knowledge in renewable resource identification, engineering design and grid connection optimisation.
