GNSS Researcher
Position: Permanent
Location: Calgary, Canada

We are recruiting for a client in the Autonomy & Positioning industry. This position reports to the GNSS lead and will be working with the multi-disciplinary team of tracking, signal processing and positioning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake research projects to improve GNSS resiliency!
  • Conduct theoretical analysis/derivations, implement the new ideas in the appropriate platform, devise and complete appropriate tests to prove performance, and document the process and the results
  • Work independently in the lab and the field with a full suite of specialized development and test equipment, such as RF recorders, GNSS signal simulators, and multi-frequency GNSS receivers to test and verify developed methods and algorithm
  • Present your progress to management and peers
  • Collaborate with other subject matter experts in the applied research team to direct innovation in resilient GNSS solutions
  • Review research and industry advances and publications on an ongoing basis for new technologies and algorithms
  • Anticipate patterns, looking beyond the immediate task and generating new solutions to complex resilient GNSS problems

Experience and Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Geomatics Engineering or a related area
  • Minimum 5 years’ industry experience, or equivalent experience in a research environment
  • Strong understanding of GNSS vulnerabilities including jamming, spoofing and multipath and their effect on the measurement and position solutions
  • Strong knowledge in GNSS interference detection and mitigation methods
  • Proven knowledge of GNSS receiver design theory
  • Experience applying theory in GNSS robustness applications to real-world scenarios
  • Related GNSS signal processing design and measurement and product development experience in the defense, automotive, aerospace, agriculture, navigation industries
  • Proven track record of innovation
  • Experience with C++ development
  • Candidates legally able to work in Canada are preferred and international candidates will be considered
