Fire Protection Engineer – Monrovia
With-in the Mechanical Utilities group performs a wide variety of difficult and highly complex engineering, design, analysis, or other technical tasks utilizing current technology and available standards, templates and cataloged products. May provide project supervision for medium to large projects. Implements the Company Procedures Manual while seeking improvements to work processes and design approaches. Develops innovative technical solutions to complex problems. Mentor subordinates. May be required to travel to the client’s operating facilities or offices.
What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience:
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience if allowed by law. Expert knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted office procedures. Typically, minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in downstream refinery projects, relevant professional registration preferred. Well-Versed in F&G/Fire Suppression system design and associated interfaces with other systems.
Special Job Requirements
Proficient with NFPA Standards and International Building and Fire Codes. Experience in the design of fire water and fixed water spray systems, fire alarm systems, design layouts of fire and gas detection systems and provide hazardous area analysis for petrochemical and infrastructure facilities. Knowledge on California State Building and fire codes a plus.
