Financial Performance & Analysis Analyst

Position: Permanent

Location: Houston, TX

The Financial Performance & Analysis Analyst will support the U.S Operations and Consulting divisions. Our client is in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) industry who delivers services to oil and gas clients. This role is fast paced and needs a person who can prioritize workloads.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyses and interprets large volumes of data from company financial systems to facilitate management reporting, comparing budget/forecast to actual, including KPI's, key business drivers and trends, overheads, business development activities and market conditions through collaboration with location finance relevant stakeholders.
  • Generates location reporting, including:
    • Monthly Flash reporting, Monthly & Quarterly Business Review reporting
    • Preparation of monthly department overhead reports and overhead reviews
    • Weekly chargeability reports
    • Monthly Hyperion cashflow reporting (if applicable)
    • Weekly working capital reporting (if applicable)
    • Weekly cash collection reporting (if applicable)
    • Collation of data for government reporting
    • Any other adhoc reporting required
  • Support annual budget, quarterly forecasting, and monthly rolling forecast. Includes: collection and review budget/forecast data, enter budget/forecast data into Hyperion, ensuring integrity of data entered into Hyperion for locations.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Accounting or 4-year Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business.
  • 3+ years' significant financial experience, majority of this in role as Financial Analyst.
  • Expert technical and analytical accounting skills, specifically in the areas of financial modelling and reporting.
  • Public practice or publicly traded company experience desired.
  • Expert technical understanding of GAAP; maintains the highest professional ethics and standards.
  • Proficient use of the most common Microsoft applications including intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel to download and analyze data (pivot tables etc.)
  • Advanced competency in Power Bi, Power Query and Power Pivot preferred.
