We require an experienced Environmental Specialist with a focus on Compliance to work from our client's Perth based head office for a permanent, full time opportunity (maximum term until December 2025).

The Role
The Environmental Specialist (Compliance) will ensure that our client meets all Environmental Compliance aspects on their projects.
Key responsibilities include but aren't limited to:
- Ensure an integrated working relationship between our client's Approvals and Heritage/Land Access teams with the Project Environment Team.
- Maintain an up-to-date Obligations Register inclusive of all applicable regulatory obligations.
- Support environmental operational compliance programs via desktop and site-based compliance audits (and inspections).
- Support the capture of metrics to baseline, measure, and report on environmental performance and risk.
- Develop collaborative and productive relationships with all key stakeholders (internal and external), including Contractor and Subcontractor teams, to assist the delivery of an effective EMS.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have several years experience in a similar role within the mining industry (construction/operational environments) as well as well-developed communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Degree qualified in Environmental Science or equivalent.
- Demonstrated exposure to relevant legislation including Environmental Protection Act (1986), Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (1999) and Mining Act (1978).
- Demonstrated participation in regulatory or contractual compliance programs, preferably for large resource projects in Western Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data and information to provide well informed recommendations and guidance to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting the development of internal and external reports, including regulatory reports, to assist in meeting compliance requirements and measuring/enhancing social and/or environmental performance.
