Our client are the PMC for the development of a major green ammonia production facility in Europe to design and construction the project as part of a sustainable future.
They seek to recruit a Construction Manager on either a contract or permanent basis, based in Copenhagen, to be part of this fantastic green energy transitional project. The PMC will manage delivery engineering scopes being delivered in Denmark and travel will be required to the EPC offices in Europe to oversee the project designs.
As part of a large greenfield energy transitional project you will have a strong background in the delivery of large greenfield process plant developments, hydrogen projects or alternatively within offshore wind, battery or energy storage
- Ensure all Project / Company HSE goals are achieved and where possible exceeded
- Ensure all Construction personnel at both Project and Corporate level are aware of / implement safe working practices / procedures and are provided with a safe working environment
- Deliver a high standard Construction capability at both Project and Corporate levels, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach is implemented at all times
- Implement a continuous improvement philosophy across Construction activities, delivering best practices at all times
- Manage, support and develop all Construction personnel
- Maintain and deliver Construction activities within budget, and where applicable implement cost saving initiatives
- Ensure a safe and effective Permit to Work system is in place for all Construction activities
You will:
- Support day-to-day Construction activities / personnel in the safe and structured delivery of workscopes and processes, ensuring all applicable Site / Project safety procedures are fully and properly implemented
- Demonstrate high profile and visible safety leadership by example and communication with teams
- Provide support and training to Construction personnel, ensuring personnel are competent and possess the required skills
- Actively participate and drive Company and Project safety initiatives
- Constantly strive to obtain maximum productivity and economical use of labour and equipment in order to keep costs within budget
- Study, assess and verify all Construction drawings, specifications and instructions and escalate any issues identified
- Ensure that all work is to the required standard and that all drawings, specifications, inspections and certifications are strictly adhered to as well as all Company systems of quality assurance
- Manage the mobilisation and de-mobilisation of Construction resources to meet schedule requirements
- Liaise with Project personnel to identify and deliver early Construction Project gains
- Monitor and report Construction progress on a regular basis - daily, weekly, monthly and escalate any issues / concerns
- Maintain primary contact and a good working relationship with Vendor / Sub-Contractor Management and site representatives
- Be fully familiar with their methods of construction, scheduling and procedures to resolve any apparent conflicts and ensure they are fully aware of their obligations and responsibilities
- Ensure, before any variation work is carried out by a Vendor / Sub-Contractor that an authorised instruction has been provided
- Authorise or refute all Vendor / Sub-Contractor claims for delay, waiting time or abortive work
You'll have:
- Demonstrable experience in similar role or Senior position in Construction Management
- Prior Renewables/Sustainable project driven experience.
- Delivery focused with proven experience in achieving Project goals whilst maintaining high standards in HSEQ at all times
- Extensive knowledge of the Construction processes, including implementation and management. Fully conversant with Project Management tools
- Experienced in the production of detailed procedures / documents / reports
- Experienced in the management of personnel and all aspects of team working
- Able to deliver training to personnel within the Construction team - commitment to develop team members
- Able to interface and interact with Management and Client Representatives at all levels
- Able to work at both Project and Corporate levels.
