Contract Position

Our client has an excellent opportunity for a highly organized and motivated Construction Manager overseeing the construction of a new 900MW 2x1 gas fired combined-cycle greenfield site employing Siemens Gas Turbine technology in Lordstown, OH. The Construction Manager will report to Owner's Chief Operations Officer and play a vital role in monitoring the EPC contractor with focus on HSE, quality, schedule, costs and adherence to contract documents. The Construction Manager will be the Owners Representative on-site providing oversight of project controls, monitoring of the EPC contractor and all aspects related to construction. The Construction Manager will be supported with the Owner's Engineer, a world recognized engineering firm, and site supervisors. The Construction Manager receives competitive salary plus benefits.


  • Overall job site responsibilities monitoring the EPC contractor with focus on HSE, schedule and quality for an on-time and on-budget project.
  • Communicate effectively with project counterparties to ensure the goals of the project are achieved.
  • Create long and short-term plans, which include setting measurable targets, to adhere to deadlines
  • Communicate with company management to keep the project aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Develop, coach, and support the project team members on all construction related activities to achieve project goals.
  • Work with project team to ensure compliance with company policies, governmental rules/regulations, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide valuable and timely recommendations to Owner's team

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to monitor EPC resources through effective oversight for project objectives.
  • Skilled in monitoring schedules, work plans and Owner resource allocation for the project
  • Ability to organize field data & engineering data to compile various documentation and reports.
  • Ensure Owner corporate policies and programs related to HR, Safety, Quality, and Project Controls are implemented. Ensure that EPC contractor is following their policies and programs.
  • Proficient at managing, defining and recommending project scope, goals, and deliverable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organization skills
  • Proficiency with the following MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, MS Project)
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and construction prints for proper buildout of project accordingly.
  • Working knowledge in the review of contracts, design specifications, codes, and standards.
  • Ability to work in extreme heat and cold, respond quickly to sounds, see and respond to dangerous situations.


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of experience as a Construction Manager or on-site Construction position in management
  • Combined cycle experience preferred
  • Construction related experience as an Owners Representative, or an Independent Power Producer (IPP) Representative is preferred.
