Cloud Infrastructure Developer

Position: Permanent

Location: Edmonton, Alberta, CA

Our client is currently recruiting for a Cloud Infrastructure Developer to add to their growing technology solutions team. Our client is spear heading the market in modern technology that create smart and safer buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, test, and document infrastructure-as-code solutions using agile methodologies with a focus on reusability, flexibility, availability, scalability, security, and cost.
  • Ensure the infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions support an IT environment which aid the organizations business objectives.
  • Provide development leadership and coordination to meet team, department, and corporate objectives.
  • Develop, support, troubleshoot, monitor, recommend improvements to, and optimize complex solutions through teamwork, information gathering, and troubleshooting across multiple integrated solutions.
  • Advocate DevOps culture, tooling, delivery methods, and practices.
  • Estimate work efforts and story pointing required for each phase of an agile initiative.
  • Remediate escalations from customers, vendors, and other Business Technology teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong, customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to peers, and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in technology including 2 years in cloud infrastructure development in Azure, with a postsecondary degree or diploma in computer technology, or related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft services including:
  1. Azure Active Directory
    1. Azure Networking
    2. Azure Key Vault
    3. Azure Storage Services
    4. Azure Databases
    5. Azure Functions
    6. Azure Automation
    7. Windows Server technologies
    8. Microsoft 365 Modern Workplace and Security solutions such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Team, and Intune.
  • Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure such as cloud (IaaS, PaaS), virtualization, client/server architecture, and networking.
  • Proven experience with release pipelines, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), application lifecycle management, and Azure DevOps or GitHub.
  • Automation skills leveraging JavaScript, Node.js, PowerShell and Python.
  • Practical experience in end-to-end delivery of integrations with other third-party systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment and with employees at all levels/areas of the organization to solve problems.
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize own work with a high degree of consistency.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and proven strong analytical skills in managing complex systems.
