Our client, an international Oil & Gas operator is in the midst of an accelerated growth of transition that will see them pave the way for decarbonisation and sustainability in Australia, and they seek to transition their existing projects to carbon neutrality, whilst also creating new clean energy projects as part of their growth portfolio.
As projects start to ramp up, they have identified the need to bring on board a technical Carbon Capture and Storage Engineer to join their team. The role will be responsible for Ensuring technical CCS process integrity for reservoir CO2 and related midstream facilities. It will also help to define and optimise CO2 emissions baselines across the Upstream, Midstream and the Transport and storage projects elements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the Upstream Offset Project applications for maximised carbon credit generation.
- Assist the Development Project Manager and CCUS Managers in planning, coordinating and controlling the execution of the CCS project components, in observance of organisational technical, operational and HSE/Quality procedures and best practices.
- Assist the CCUS Manager in defining and registering project baseline to maximise Carbon Credits including for reservoir CO2, during FEED phase.
- Provide technical CCS support to the Development Project Manager and HSE Department for project submission and authorisations.
- Supply technical CCS specific elements for the preparation of CCS contractual documents required by the project.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Extensive in the Oil & Gas Industry or in the Service Industry.
- Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering, Earth Sciences or Environment.
- Project/Facilities Engineer experience, with direct exposure to CCS project preferred
- Experience in interfacing with Australian Regulator on SafeGuard Mechanism and Carbon Credits Scheme (Clean Energy Regulator - CER).
- Experience in CCS project design and management.
