We recruit technical specialists and managers for demanding national and international projects of our technologically leading customers. On behalf of our client we are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager, located in Amsterdam.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible to develop commercial efforts concerning the use of Clean Ammonia and be focused on the decarbonization Power Generation. In this role you will promote Clean Ammonia and act as a key Subject Matter Expert on power generation including fossil combustion and renewables. You have a strong passion in driving low carbon initiatives especially in the power generation market. With your views and expertise you will help to develop knowledge regarding clean Ammonia with a result of market adoption and regulatory changes. You will work closely with our other teams (Nitrogen, Ammonia, corporate business development and regional teams) to develop strong business relationships in the market, which include trading partners, producers and customers around Europe.
Responsibilities:

Create value propositions for the adoption of Clean Ammonia amongst all stakeholders in the Power Generation value chain.

Assess and analyse current and future market developments of Clean Ammonia applications, customer needs, competitor developments and other relevant business intelligence activities

Develop and maintain different use cases of power generation (Gas turbines, gas engines, cracking, fuel cells etc) and associated economics back to clean ammonia cost to ascertain ammonia cost competitiveness against conventional feedstocks.

Maintain a global network with customers, peers, competitors, authorities, OEMs and partners in order to stay abreast of all business developments and ensure access to relevant market and business information

Development of clear market strategy on Clean Ammonia in the Power Generation market segment.

Originate and execute business development opportunities including Joint ventures / partnerships / offtakes, targeted commercially oriented capital projects, infrastructure development to underpin supply and marketing of Clean Ammonia.

Develop and own LCA models for Clean Ammonia especially for Power Generation market

Work closely with certification lead to establish and/or use relevant certification required for the adoption of Clean Ammonia in Power Generation market.

Work closely with the Ammonia team to develop and maintain knowledge repository for Clean Ammonia

Support our clients' agenda and strategic initiatives of reducing GHG footprint with particular focus on Clean Ammonia
Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Economics (+Master's degree BA)

Ability to engage Ammonia approaching technical players to get updates on technology progress and identify potential end users

Subject Matter Expertise on the Power Generation value chain which includes analysis of cost / benefit trade-offs, technical knowledge of CCGTs and CFPPs, especially in the European markets.

Strong Passion in driving low carbon initiatives particularly in the power generation market segment

The knowledge to lead low carbon advocacy initiatives and represent OCI on various occasions

Ideally have been involved in studies and projects on feedstock transition to Ammonia and/or Hydrogen, and/or Ammonia cracking to Hydrogen for uses in power

Ability to see through long processes with the final result in mind

Able to move back and forth from strategic view to detailed tactics

Extensive experience in power generation industry with exposure to CCGTs, CFPPs and renewables in a Commercial Sales and/or Business Development capacity.

Able to thrive in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment

Engaging approach and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
