Automation Engineer II

Contract Position
We are currently seeking an Automation Engineer to join our growing team in Pueblo, Co. This is a project-based position that will be on a long-term contract. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Automation Engineer will be highly experienced in PLC or DCS systems and possess extensive troubleshooting and advanced programming skills.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Expert level knowledge in any major PLC or DCS System (Rockwell, Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, etc.) OR good overall knowledge of Rockwell Automation systems; this would include detailed knowledge of the following
Advanced skills in troubleshooting large PLC programs; some knowledge or experience troubleshooting Rockwell (RSLogix) programs
Advanced programming of PLC Ladder Logix (LLD); and some knowledge of at least 1 of the following: Function Block Diagrams (FBD), Sequential Function Chart (SFC) and Structured Text (ST)
Advanced knowledge of Ethernet based network communications, such as EthernetIP, Profinet, etc.) Experience troubleshooting PLC and Automation networks
Fundamental knowledge of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) technology. Experience in the setup and tuning of VFDs, including Servo or Motion Control setups. Specific knowledge of setting up Ethernet Networked VFDs
Experience in 1 of the following: Robots, Vision System or other Autonomous systems. Any experience with Automatic Retrieval and Storage systems would be a plus
Detailed knowledge of field device selection, setup and troubleshooting; this would also include fluid system instruments
Experience maintaining Level 2 of Manufacturing Execution Systems; specifically
Understanding of L2/MES to PLC Communication systems and protocols
Good knowledge of Relational SQL Databases and their maintenance
Ability to work safely, with no Supervision
Basic knowledge of Hydraulics
Requirements:
BS Degree such as BSEE/BSEET, BSCS, BS Mechatronics or other related Natural Science (Math, Physics, etc.)
3 Years of Heavy Industrial experience, preferably in a Metals related industry or AS Degree in the above 5 Years of Experience
