Name: Tim Jürling
Title: Recruitment Consultant
Time with company: Since April 2022
What do you do at Energy Resourcing?
I am a recruiter for our office in Germany. I specialise in recruitment for roles in the Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy fields.
Are you working on any specific projects at the moment?
I am currently working on a huge project, Borouge 4, with my colleagues globally. We are looking to fill more than 80 roles within a PMC team in Italy.
How did you get into your current career?
I’ve always liked working with people and help them achieve their goals, so recruiting was a great opportunity for me! I started in recruitment in 2019 and since then it’s great to see people joining your company, because they see the worth in it and it makes me proud to be part of their journey.
On top of that, keeping a relationship to our candidates after they leave the company at some point makes it special. It’s great to build that bond with people!
What’s the best part of your job?
Getting to know so many different characters and assisting to achieve their goals.
What challenges have you had to overcome to get to where you are today?
I would rather call the challenges “opportunities to grow”. There will always be obstacles in your way, some challenges that will occur, but you’ve got to face them and make the best out of the situation for yourself.
Any words of wisdom you live by?
Don’t be discouraged by failure, be patient and resilient and always be kind.
What keeps you at Energy Resourcing?
To be fair: this is just my first year at Energy Resourcing, but I’d say the atmosphere between the people internally, and I mean working with colleagues all over the world is special. Everyone I’ve met so far always lends an ear and listens, gives advice, despite the fact most of us have never met each other in person, only through our virtual ‘offices’.
What do you like to do outside of work?
My passion is football (soccer). I’ve actively played football for more than 20 years, until an injury stopped me in 2015. However, I do also enjoy watching and supporting my favourite club, FC Schalke 04. Covid doesn’t allow us to visit the stadium currently, but I hope that we will soon be able to go again.
The other passion is gaming. Started on the SNES in the mid 90’s and never stopped since. Sometimes I prefer playing competitive games, and at other times I just enjoy a nice single player game, whether it’s a sports game or some open world type.
If you hadn’t got into your current career… what would you have become?
It is insane that you can earn millions with gaming professionally – so, probably a professional gamer.
What was the last book you read
Jo Nesbø – Nemesis
Film you watched?
The last music you listened to?
Some new releases on Spotify, based on my preferences
Are you looking for a job in a globally driven company assisting you in finding the right candidates for your projects?
I am always happy to talk to people in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Refineries and Renewable Energy sectors in Germany and Europe.
Given that Energy Resourcing supports its clients through all phases of a project, I can support you with a broad network in all Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management roles.
