What do you do at Energy Resourcing?
As a recruiting consultant, my primary responsibility is to help clients identify and attract top talent to their organisations. This involves developing and implementing recruiting strategies, sourcing and screening candidates, and managing the hiring process. I also need to maintain relationships with both clients and candidates to ensure a successful outcome for all parties involved.
How did you get into your current career?
I got into recruiting when I was working for a friend in a software agency as a business partner, and we needed software specialists. So, I did sourcing as a side hustle. I liked the challenge of finding the right profiles and talking to the candidates. As a result, I was recruited by a staffing agency.
Are you working on any specific projects at the moment?
My private project is learning Spanish since I got really attached to Spain. Workwise, I am on a lifelong journey of learning and improving.
What’s the best part of your role?
I specifically enjoy the opportunity to speak with candidates and serve as the primary point of contact for clients. This aspect of my job allows me to facilitate connections and help both parties achieve their goals.
What is the most challenging part of your role?
Despite my best efforts to plan and structure my day, unexpected events or circumstances can arise that disrupt my schedule. This requires me to be flexible and adaptable in my approach to work, which can be both challenging and rewarding as I navigate different situations and find creative solutions to problems.
Any words of advice for young graduates?
Be patient and do not stress yourself. I am still learning that myself!
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy riding motorcycles and improving my basic mechanical knowledge to be able to do more work on them myself. This mechanical interest can also be found in my PC-building hobby. I have become the PC supplier for my friends. The PCs I build are for video games, which is my number one digital medium. To counteract the negative effects of too much sitting, I do sports such as running, weightlifting and yoga. I am passionate about American football and MotoGP. The rest of my spare time is spent with my family and friends.

‘Hologrammatica’ by Tom Hillenbrand.
