What do you do at Energy Resourcing?
I get asked this a lot – my reply is usually – I fix stuff. They laugh, I laugh, then they say, no really, what do you do – I say, really, I fix stuff.
It can be overwhelming to people when I tell them I review the processes for integrated and non-integrated systems for a concise and efficient outcome; while identifying and eliminating roadblocks for all parties involved.
Are you working on any specific projects at the moment?
Yes, currently reviewing then implementing a global integrated CRM/ATS & CMS platform for all our global offices. This will allow all regions to work seamlessly in one system.
How did you get into your current career?
Somewhat by accident to be honest. I was working as an Executive Assistant in the HR field – things evolved from there.
What’s the best part of your job?
Removing roadblocks and empowering people to do their job efficiently.
What challenges have you had to overcome to get to where you are today?
Resiliency, and PATIENCE – the struggle to keep going despite delays and major roadblocks.
Any inspirational moments that shaped you?
Meeting Mel Robbins (motivational and keynote speaker) at an HR Conference in Vancouver. I was thrilled to hear her speak – it really was an amazing moment.
Do you have any advice for young recruiters?
My advice to young recruiters is to cut your teeth on the hard stuff. Don’t go for the big cushy jobs, find your grit and drive.
What keeps you at Energy Resourcing?
I enjoy the people I work with, we’re a close knit community.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I’m a lover of Curling! Beware when the Olympics is on… I’m vocal and passionate and will become a monster lol.
If you hadn’t got into your current career… what would you have become?
A nurse, or an optometrist.
