Meet the team: Julie Booth

2023.05.23 Julie Booth

Name: Julie Booth

Title: Regional Director, North America

Region: Houston, United States

Time with company: Since June 2019

What do you do at Energy Resourcing?

My role at Energy Resourcing is Regional Director of North America. I have the pleasure of heading up our Canada and U.S. locations with an outstanding team of eighteen professionals in various functions, such as business development, recruitment, onboarding, finance and payroll. I am responsible for the full P&L (profit and loss) of the two entities in my region.

How did you get into your current career?

Early on in my career, I had the privilege of working in various financial roles for Fortune 500 companies in the energy and manufacturing sectors. While my background was in accounting, I discovered that my true passion and interest lay in building relationships and engaging in strategic sales. During a conversation with a recruiter about my career choices, I was pleasantly surprised when she suggested that I join her accounting and finance recruitment firm. Little did I know that this decision would lead me on a lifelong career journey. It’s been an incredible experience and I’m grateful that is never ceases to be exciting and fulfilling.

Are you working on any specific projects at the moment?

Yes, currently I’m working on a framework agreement with a very large engineering client to stand up their regional MSP. My team has successfully achieved this with another large client within a very tight timeframe so I’m excited about getting to work on another project this large!

What’s the best part of your role?

The ability to make a positive impact on others, whether that be the team that I’m fortunate to lead, my clients that are having staffing challenges or the candidates that we can impact and improve their career path with fantastic opportunities.

What is the most challenging part of your role?

Managing the peaks and valleys of the market which is completely out of our control.

Any words of advice to young graduates?

Do not burn bridges. The professional world is small, and you will find that your reputation is extremely important. Being in recruitment has taught me that your network is key in advancing your career.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like to stay active with various sports such as golf, weight training, walking my dog and spending time with my son and significant other. Travel has always been big on our list and my son has been travelling internationally with me since he was six. Such a great travel buddy!

What was the last book you read?

‘Stolen Focus’ by Johann Hari.

Film you watched?

Music you listened to?

Most likely some type of 80’s music.
