What do you do at Energy Resourcing?
Having been with the wider business for nineteen years now, I’ve done many different roles in that time, from HR Generalist, Recruiter, Account Lead and CMS. I am currently transitioning back into the CMS team in the role of CMS Lead.
How did you get into your current career?
I was at college doing an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration when an old friend of mine contacted me to see if I would be interested in helping out doing some filing with AMEC in the HR department. Four weeks later I was offered a staff position as a HR Assistant, and the rest is history!
What’s the best part of your role?
No two days are ever the same – it’s such a varied role. One day I can be working on overpayment issues, and the next day looking at how we engage someone on a project in America. Luckily, I have a good team around me who can support me where needed.
What is the most challenging part of your role?
At the moment the restriction on engaging with PSCs is challenging for us. The process for getting someone approved as a PSC is very long-winded, meaning majority of contractors we engage with now are PAYE. Trying to persuade someone to engage on a PAYE basis after years of operating as a PSC can be challenging for the team.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy working out, cooking, baking and spending time with my husband and children. We all love going on holidays, whether it be a weekend away somewhere local or two weeks abroad. Making memories with my children is just the best.
What was the last book you read?
‘Love and Fury’ by Paris Fury.
