What do you do at Energy Resourcing?
I work as a CMS Advisor within the CMS team within the UK.
Are you working on any specific projects at the moment?
Currently I look after around 43 projects at the moment including Scopus, Corporate, Apache and AES.
How did you get into your current career?
I was in Administration for quite a period of time, and I wanted to do something completely new and fresh, and more people centered. A position came up to cover for a CMS Advisor when we were still Primat that the time, so I seized an opportunity. I have been within the business for two years this month.
What’s the best part of your job?
The people. I consider myself very much a people person and I enjoy the daily interaction I have with my team and contractors. I feel like I have been here a lot longer than I have, due to the good relationship I have built with the people during my time here
What challenges have you had to overcome to get to where you are today?
I started the role at the beginning of the pandemic, so starting a job solely remote working was a significant change for me. It had its challenging moments at first. Learning an entirely new role when not having stepped foot in the office wasn’t easy some days, but thanks to the incredible support I received from the team, this became easier with time.
Another challenge I’ve overcome was when my initial contract with Energy Resourcing came to an end, I moved had to move to another role in HR Admin department for Worley. I worked there for a while before joining Energy Resourcing again, this time joining the CMS team to cover another maternity leave. By this point, Primat had been acquired by Energy Resourcing. So, there have been many changes since I was last in the role but thankfully, I have found my feet again thanks to the team.
Any words of wisdom you live by?
Make the most of any opportunity and always be there for each other …. Teamwork makes the dream work!
What keeps you at Energy Resourcing?
The company and its management, people have been good to me! Considering I only stepped in to cover a year’s maternity leave, efforts have been made to keep me going in the business which I am very thankful for and hope to continue my career with Energy Resourcing. My team also keep me here and the positive relationships I have built with my projects and contractors. Its nice to feel welcome and part of something good!
What do you like to do outside of work?
Friends and family time is always a priority for me on the weekends. I like to read and love my hobby which is make-up artistry. I often assist at wedding and other events on the weekends which I love.
If you hadn’t got into your current career… what would you have become?
A nurse. I have a diploma in Health Sciences.
