What do you do at Energy Resourcing?
Located in the Singapore office, I ensure timely payroll to our contractors in accordance with the location’s tax requirement.
Are you working on any specific projects at the moment?
Recently, I joined the Diversity and Inclusion initiative – to be more informed and understand what I can do better on my end and sharing this with the team.
How did you get into your current career?
At Energy Resourcing Singapore itself!
Initially I was here for 5 years and my very first task was to tabulate timesheets. After being away for close to 8 years, I’m back. Life is indeed a mystery.
What’s the best part of your job?
Each location has its own tax, banking, and compliance requirements – you just keep learning new things.
What challenges have you had to overcome to get to where you are today?
I constantly remind myself that this is not a ‘1 size fits all’ and to continue seeking information that is relevant to my current checklist.
Your advice to young people getting into finance?
Honesty and never fear to fail. Be transparent on what you know or can do and don’t be afraid to ask to learn. It goes a long way.
What keeps you at Energy Resourcing?
The people I work with.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Reading and cleaning (it never ends…)
If you hadn’t got into your current career… what would you have become?
